Aggie Adventures
Day Camps
Aggie Adventures is a fun & educational camp program developed by Utah State University. Camps give youth the opportunity to explore the world of science through hands-on activities. Focus is also placed on development of life skills.
Fees per camp are $45 if paid by May 28 and $55 after that date. The exception is Aquanauts: Underwater Robot Academy which is $75 if registered early and $85 after May 28.
Register at the Washington County Utah State Extension Office at 44 N 100 E in St. George. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

4-H FAMILY CAMP
JULY 28-30, 2008
USU Washington County 4-H and Extension present: "The Pacific Island Adventure!" Once again this anual Family Camp will be held at Tuschar Lake east of Beaver Utah. This is a camp where the whole 4-H family can enjoy beautiful surroundings and time together. The cost per 4-H youth is $20.00 this will pay for the camp site, t-shirt, Tuesday lunch and all the fun you can imagine! There is a lake where we will have canoes available under supervised conditions only, bird watching, hiking, relaxing and anything your imagination can conjure up. Activities for the county 4-H youth have been planned by our Teen Council, Jr. Teen Council, and District Ambassadors. It will be well worth your time, because time with your family ............. GEOLOGY & PALEONTOLOGY DAY CAMP
SESSION 1: JUNE 2-5 FOR GRADES 7,8 & 9
SESSION 2: JUNE 16-19 FOR GRADES 10,11, 12
You will travel to several geological sites in Washington County including the St.Ggeorge, Dinosaur Discovery Site at the Johnson Farm. You will recieve field instruction for students with little or no geology experience at some of Southern Utah's most beautiful scenic areas. You will learn how to use professional instruments such as a GPS unit, Brunton compass and Jacob Staff for measuring and describing rock sections. Learn how to map and examine dinosaur fossils at an actual dinosaur dig site.
ASTRONOMY, ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY, AND SPACE EXPLORATION
SESSION 1: JULY 7-8 FOR GRADES 7, 8 , 9
SESSION 2: JULY 31 -AUGUST 1 FOR GRADES 10, 11, 12
Star parties at a dark sky location over 8,000 feet! Learn to identify and examine the main objects within our solar system and explain how a star is born, its life cycle and what the different colors represent. Describe and understand the celestial sphere movement of the night sky. Find out what obstacles we need to overcome for human exploration of the solar system both manned and unmanned. Practice and learn how to take pictures and the computer processing of astronomical photgraphs. SO BRING YOUR CAMERA!
